In September 2011, DLDP partnered with Centre for Multiparty Democracy - Kenya (CMD-Kenya). Our project with CMD-Kenya consists of two components: Communication and youth participation in political parties in Kenya.
In July 2014, DLDP received funding to continue and to develop our project in Kenya until 2017.
Women and youth
The society and political landscape in Kenya is characterised by a strong patriarchal culture. This makes it difficult for women and young people to gain influence. However, there are many young people in the country that wants to be involved in the development in the country. DLDP focuses on helping young politicians to become influential.
Initially DIDP granted funds for a project of 18 month. Since then the project has been extended.
